The Resort Course

The incredible setting and natural beauty of The Resort Course have made it a Columbia Valley favourite since 1957 and we have made some changes that will be sure to enchant golfers for another 50 years.

Phase 1 of our Master Redevelopment Plan has been completed and is now open for play. The 1st phase consists of three newly constructed golf holes as well as modifications to three existing holes. These enhancements change the par from 69 to 71, and increase the length of the course from 5,306 yards to 6,071 yards from the black tees. We have also gone from 2 sets of tees to 4 sets of tees to accommodate all proficiency levels of golfers. The forward tees will play 5,255 and allow golfers who appreciated the shorter mountain course the same opportunity to continue to play the course at this length with an improved golf experience.

New Golf Holes Constructed

The new holes are surrounded by forest and sit at the base the Rocky Mountains. Golfers will enjoy incredible vistas and watch their shots fly with the Rockies and Purcell mountain ranges as their canvas. The holes are designed by renowned Golf Course Architect and Radium Resort President, Bill Newis. The three new holes were built north of the existing 12th and 13th holes and will be incorporated into the back nine. Former owners of the Resort had cleared many trees in this forested area years ago in the hopes of one day building another golf course. Newis has taken some of these cleared areas and carefully planned the new holes to improve on the current popularity of the Resort Course, all the while remaining cognizant of the natural setting.

About the Resort Course

Cut out of an alpine forest, this course features tight, tree-lined fairways, undulating greens and dramatic elevation changes. The Resort Course can be forgiving to the average golfer - just like you would expect from an old friend - but it offers challenges for the low handicapper, making it a perfect complement to the challenges of The Springs Course.

The Resort Course is a beautiful 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive from Calgary and is steps away from everything that Radium Resort has to offer - great food, relaxing accommodations and friendly staff. There's no reason not to keep in touch.

Perched high over the Columbia Valley in the rugged terrain bordering Kootenay National Park, the Purcell and Rocky Mountain ranges frame the course, creating a one-of-a-kind setting. With jaw-dropping vistas and spectacular elevation changes combined with playability, it's easy to see why the oldest course in the Valley has withstood the test of time.

Join us to experience a 50 year-old golfing tradition.
